Who is responsible for your information
GTA Tarping INC is responsible for the personal information we collect. Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to our privacy contact at info@gtatarping.ca or 905-251-0101.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your request and run our business.
Quote and lead forms. When you fill in the quote form on our website, or a lead form in one of our ads on Facebook, Instagram or Google, we may collect:
• your name;
• email address;
• phone number;
• company or builder name;
• project address or municipality;
• the services you're interested in;
• your expected start date;
• building details, such as the number of storeys; and
• any notes or details you choose to add about the project.
Phone calls and emails. When you call or email us, we keep your name, phone number or email address and what you tell us about your project, so we can follow up.
Website use. When you visit our website, some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar tools (see "Cookies, analytics and advertising" below). This can include your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, how you got to our site (for example, from a search or an ad) and roughly where you are (city or region).
Please don't send us sensitive personal information (such as health or financial details) through our forms. We don't need it.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We and our service providers use them, along with similar tools such as tags and pixels, for the purposes below.
• Site hosting (Wix). Our website is hosted on Wix. Wix places cookies that are needed for the site to work, stay secure and remember basic settings.
• Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through the Google tag, to understand how visitors use our site, for example which pages are visited and whether a quote form was sent. This helps us improve the site.
• Advertising (planned). We plan to use Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel (from the company that runs Facebook and Instagram), and may use Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure whether our ads lead to quote requests or calls, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. This policy will be kept up to date as these tools are added.
These providers may collect information about your visit and combine it with information they already have about you under their own privacy policies.
You can control cookies:
• Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the site from working properly.
• Cookie banner. If our site shows a cookie banner, you can change your choices there.
• Google Analytics. You can install Google's opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Google ads personalisation. Visit Google's My Ad Center (adssettings.google.com) to turn off personalised ads.
• Meta ads personalisation. In Facebook or Instagram, go to Settings, then Accounts Centre, then Ad preferences.
• Other ad networks. The Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada's opt-out tool is at youradchoices.ca.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
• prepare and send quotes;
• reply to your questions, calls and emails;
• schedule site visits and work, and keep in touch while a job is underway;
• keep business records, such as invoices and project files;
• improve our website, our services and our ads; and
• meet our legal obligations.
We don't use your information for anything else without asking you first, unless the law requires or allows it.
Consent
By sending us a quote request, filling in a lead form, calling or emailing us, you consent to us using your information to respond to you as described in this policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide a quote or service.
Marketing emails and CASL
Details you send through our quote form or an ad lead form are used to respond to that request. We send commercial emails (such as news about our services or seasonal reminders) only where we have your consent or where CASL otherwise allows it.
Every marketing email we send includes our contact information and a way to unsubscribe. You can also opt out at any time by emailing info@gtatarping.ca or calling 905-251-0101. We'll process your request within 10 business days. Opting out of marketing emails doesn't stop messages about a quote or job you've asked us for.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information.
We only share it with service providers who help us run our business, and only what they need to do their job:
• Wix, which hosts our website and quote form;
• Google, for analytics, ads, and lead forms run on Google;
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for ads and lead forms run on its platforms; and
• our email provider, which delivers and stores our email.
These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.
Information stored outside Canada
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. While it's there, it's subject to the laws of that country, and the authorities there may be able to access it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires. For example, records tied to work we've invoiced are kept for as long as Canadian tax rules require. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information. These include password-protected accounts, limiting access to people at GTA Tarping who need it, and using reputable service providers. No website or email system is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information through our forms or by email.
Your rights: access, correction and deletion
You can ask us to:
• tell you what personal information we have about you and how we've used it;
• correct information that's wrong or incomplete; or
• delete your information, where we don't need to keep it for legal or business reasons.
Send your request to info@gtatarping.ca or call 905-251-0101. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We'll reply within 30 days. If we need more time, or can't do what you ask, we'll tell you why.
Children
Our website and services are for businesses and adults. They aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add new tools to our website. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll post a notice on our website.
Questions or complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at info@gtatarping.ca or 905-251-0101, and we'll do our best to sort it out.
